i. Roleplaying Rules
Thread Rules:
In the interest of keeping the Forum and Players moving forward, the following rules shall apply to all threads:
i.
Players must be in the same country to post in threads together
ii.
Be aware that time will advance every two Real World months to the next Season In Character in the following order:
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.
This also means that every eight months, a year will pass In Character, keep this in mind during your threads and be sure to check the appropriate World Calendar section for special Events and information regarding the current Season.
iii.
There are no minimum word counts for posts- however, keep in mind that 50 word threads waste everyone's time.
Combat Rules:
Combat rules are put in place to ensure that all fights can be resolved with minimal Battlemod intervention. Battlemods, however, are available upon request should you feel you need one.
i.
Vague manipulation is frowned upon in Odyssey. If an opponent is missing essential details in their post, please ask them to edit it. If certain smaller details are neglected, such as information on the environment, vague manipulation is allowed. However, doing things like manipulating opponents into their own attacks, manipulating what weapons or armor they have equipped, is prohibited.
ii.
Timelining is allowed in Odyssey- however, please be realistic when doing so. No timelining events from several rounds ago.
iii.
Being a ninja is a dangerous occupation. Sometimes, it is possible to die in the field- rest assured, however, that you may not be killed by other players if you tag your thread as 'No Kill'. 'No Kill' tags are not absolute, and if it is shown that one has done something in order to provokr another character into attacking the tag may be voided. Missingnin are not allowed to make 'No Kill' threads, and any threads they enter will have that tag removed. Should your character die in combat with either another players character or a staff approved NPC you will be permitted to make a replacement character 1 rank beneath the rank of the character you lost. Said replacement character will also start with ryo and experience equal to half of what you had saved up on the lost character
iii.i
Should you grow bored of one character, it is possible to kill your character and make a new one. For the most part this follows the same rules as a replacement character. However, by giving up the character you also give up the experience and ryo that the character have accumulated. Additionally, this can only be done by players once every two OOC months to prevent abuse.
