The fuinjutsu marking in question has to be within a quarter mile of the user in order for them to pick it up. The user will be able to track the marking via a thin blue line of chakra emanating from their index finger, akin to a compas needle. The user must continue to hold the Seal of Confrontation in order to keep the jutsu active.
