Winter was here, but as ever yet for snow to set foot in the Hidden Dune village on a cloudy early afternoon. Sayaka rested both of her feet on top of her desk, leaning back against her chair as both hands were behind her head. A blank expression, mostly out of boredom, took over her face as she stared out at the windows. She was set up for a more formal meeting, but her usual outfit would say otherwise. In the comforts of her own village and her own people, what other reason would she have for throwing on a dress? She'd automatically assume that it wouldn't cause too much problems since it was her default attire. It was what she was comfortable with, so she had no need to switch. Even when she did have a few dresses that screamed sophisticated, her usual outfit was best fit to her. Just a few hours ago Sayaka requested an assistant to work closely with her and assist her with paperwork. To her surprise, there was already a couple applications submitted and she looked through all of them. Sure, their resumes were full of determination and confidence of obtaining such a position, but she had to be careful. She knew all too well of how people would use the opportunity to not only get closer to Sayaka, but also her disturbing past and trying to "expose" her dirtiest secrets that ranged from her murdering genin over a decade ago to her parents' businesses involved in illegal trading. Sayaka had no choice but to "silence" her previous assistants that attempted to get her impeached from a position she knew well she deserved. No doubt that the previous assistants' positions being "pulled" for them might've rose a few eyebrows, but she would only brush it off as a coincidence. Why did Sayaka wanted yet another assistant after knowing that the pattern would continue for as long as she'd still be Sunakage? No clue. She couldn't do everything by herself. After all, someone had to tend to duties that would be best fit for someone else. At the same time, it was always entertaining to toy with someone that thought they had the upperhand in exposing Sayaka when she was above all else. Her only wish was that people would learn to stick to what their assigned with and not try to close the limits of what they can and can't do. All of her past assistants were professional, confidence, bold with their words and actions, and much more that she had minor admiration in. But this applicant managed to catch the Sunakage's attention. Akuro Oka was her name. From what Sayaka has read from her application and has gathered, she was a sweetheart but can apparently get scary when she's angry. Now that was something she would look forward to and would be the judge of. She was also a genin, which was interesting since Sayaka would be expecting higher ranks to work side by side with her, but who was she to try and discriminate by rank? As long as anyone was up for the challenge of working with Sayaka, she couldn't see why she couldn't want to not hire anyone... weak, she'll put it. In fact, it got her excited to the point where a smile flashed across her face and lick her lips in anticipation. Right now, the only thing she had to do was wait, but could only hope this Akuro child doesn't make Sayaka wait for too long. Things could get a little messy if such a scenario occurred. WC: 602

Truth be told, Akuro was nervous. Even "nervous" wasn't the right word to describe how the young heterochromatic eyed girl. Out of all applicants that applied for the position as the Sunakage's assistant, she was chosen somehow for an interview. On one side she was actually excited and extremely grateful to be given an opportunity she may only get once, but on the other side she was going to talk to the Sandaime Sunakage, Sayaka Sarutobi. She was a... very, very interesting woman from what Akuro has observed maybe once or twice whenever she spotted the woman in public and the rumors that would circulate the village. She was surprised that after all that time, Sayaka maintained her position. Regardless of that, she felt like a little mouse padding itself into a lion's den. Some say she was childish, others say she was mature, but a few would claim that there's a side of her that shouldn't be triggered and Akuro would be far from trying to trigger Sayaka's bad side
The secretary guided Akuro throughout the building to the Sunakage's office. The black haired girl felt her hands trembling but she tried to calm herself down. She didn't want to leave any negative impression by appearing too nervous. If she wanted to become the Sunakage's assistant, she has to look like she knows how to stand her ground. However, she has to live up to how she looks if she's going to appear confident with her actions. Okay... j-just relax. You're only meeting the woman that has rumors of her killing genin when she was a genin herself, murdering assistants that try to expose her in any way possible, torture citizens for trying to slander her name... oh man, I'm not making this better for myself at all! She thought, sighing in frustration as she clenched her hands on her hair out of stress.
After a few minutes of wandering about, the secretary and Akuro finally made it in front of the Sunakage's office door. "Pardon the intrusion~" The secretary called as she pushed the door open wide enough for her and Akuro to be shown. Signaling her to tag along with a simple hand gesture, the black haired girl followed the secretary to the Sunakage's desk. "I believe this was the person that you wanted to interview with.... Oka Akuro, I believe." She said. With a bow, she turned to Akuro and gave her a soft but worrisome smile before taking off.
Akuro's attention was focused on the blue haired woman since her arrival in the office. Nervousness was visible on her face, but she broke her eye contact with Sayaka by shaking her head, a way to get herself together. With a deep breath, she gave herself a reassuring nod and looked back at the Sunakage, this time with a determined look on her face.
"H-Hello, Lady Sunakage. My name is Oka Akuro and I am very grateful to be given this opportunity to be interviewed by you! I hope I will not leave you dissatisfied with our interview and hope you have consideration in picking me as your assistant! If you do, I will swear on my life that I will not disappoint you!" She exclaimed with a strong bow after her quick speech.
Akuro then looked back at the blue haired woman with determination still in her eyes. This time though, timidness can be found if looked at real close. Regardless of that, Akuro would do whatever she can to make a good impression of herself.

Sayaka's attention switched from the windows and to the doors when the secretary entered into the room with a young girl with a feature that immediately caught her attention: heterochromatic eyes. With eyes like that, she'd think she was either a Uchiha or someone who managed to get a Sharigan transplant. Nonetheless, her focus was all on the girl with a neutral expression locked on her face. When the secretary and the girl approached Sayaka's desk, the secretary briefly introduced the girl who the Sunakage had requested an interview with. Akura Oka. Her eyes scanned the young girl's overall appearance; she looked like she had a very good taste in fashion, but her figure was left unknown from the cover up of her kimono. If Sayaka had to make a guess, Akuro must've had a fragile build. But who knew, perhaps this Akuro child could surprise the Sunakage.
After the secretary left Akuro alone with Sayaka, the young girl made her nervousness visible when she broke eye contact with her and looked down, shaking her head as a method to relieve herself and get rid of all of the tension built up inside of her. It was such a cute gesture Sayaka couldn't help but crack a wry smile at the young girl. She seemed so innocent and pure. Too pure for the shinobi world and definitely too pure to become Sayaka's assistant. She almost wanted to deny her out of pity. On the other hand to this, Sayaka just couldn't wait to ruin her. That is if Akuro is someone who can be "ruined" as such. The simple idea of ruining someone by all means widen her smile in amusement at Akuro.
Suddenly, Akuro looked back at Sayaka with just enough confidence to make it known that she wasn't someone who was going to back down so easily, or someone who looked as if they weren't going to back down easily. This time, Akuro gave her own introduction and respectfully bowed before the Sunakage. Her expression went blank, as if Sayaka wasn't amused with what the young girl said. She knew that she had a lot of determination in her voice. Shaky at first, but Akuro was more than willing to start this interview with hopes of leaving a good impression. As Sayaka stared into the young girl's eyes, she can definitely tell she was still a timid creature; a puppy who thought it can growl when it can't bark. It was just too adorable to watch and hear.
She wondered if she could just deny her position of Sunakage assistant and instead make her her little pet, locked away from society and all Sayaka's and Sayaka's only. Someone so sinless like Akuro deserved to be destroyed. With Sayaka's personality, it was something that could actually come true, but all of that would depend on how this interview would go. With these shameful and sinful thoughts just lingering around her head, Sayaka was impressed with herself on how she fought back a devilish smile.
Sayaka removed both feet from the table as she slowly stood up from her seat. Both hands were flat on her desk as she slowly leaned in towards Akuro's face as a sneer curled on her lips. Her own face was just inches away from the young girl's own as she squinted her eyes at her. She stood silent for just minutes as she stared deep into the young girl's heterochromatic eyes, staring her down. Her stare would feel as if she was ready to take down Akuro with the intention of bloodlust, wanting to bath in her own blood. Actually, she could do that right now. It was just those two after all. Sayaka would make sure that no one could hear Akuro scream as she rips her open and burn her into a crisp, to make sure that no one would hear Akuro's cries for mercy while she slits her throat open and watch her drown in her own blood.
Ah... such glorious thoughts. Glorious, glorious thoughts.
After a few seconds of keeping her predatory eye contact with Akuro, her expression switched to a more lighthearted appearance as a soft smile broke out on her lips as she made a delighted giggle. "Well, seems like someone is very eager to get started. It is a pleasure to meet you, Oka-san." She said with a soft voice that was very motherly. She extended a hand at Akuro, expecting a handshake. If- no, when- the young girl takes the Sunakage's hand, Sayaka would give it a type grip to the point where Akuro couldn't yank out of Sayaka's grip with all of her might. She'd hold onto the grip and let go after a full thirty seconds of silence and gradually hurting her hand.
Sayaka pulled back from Akuro's face as she stepped out from her desk. "Follow me to the couches, I can only hope you will feel more comfortable there as we will start your interview." She said. She then motioned herself over to one couch and sat down, expecting the child to sit on the opposite couch. Or, perhaps sit next to Sayaka. It didn't matter to her.
"So Oka-san, usually I would ask more mundane subjects as to why you think you would be a perfect to become my assistant and your goals to unravel as you maintain such a position, but I want to see how your mentality works. How you would react to certain situations." Sayaka explained as she leaned back, both hands behind her head and crossed her left leg over the right one. She looked bored but a lazy smirk would creep onto her lips as she stared at Akuro.
"A bird, specifically a cuckoo in this case, has stopped singing. There are three kages who each have a solution as to how to make the cuckoo sing once again. The first kage suggested to wait for it to sing. The second kage had an idea of making it sing. The third kage, on the other hand, had no intent of having the bird sing again whatsoever, so he decides to kill it. Which kage's solution do you think is best? Or rather, which solution would you go with?" Sayaka asked in a calm tone.

It looked like Sayaka wasn't so fond of Akuro's greeting. As much as it did get to Akuro to make her a little embarrassed and almost look away in shame, Akuro still held her chin up and held her eye contact with the Sunakage. She knew what this woman was trying to do and it won't work. Akuro had to make sure of herself to not get intimidated by the stare down, even if Akuro did feel like crawling into a hole for making such a fool of herself like that.
Her brows furrowed with strength visible in her eyes, but they began to soften a little when the blue haired woman took her feet off the desk and stood up, leaning in closer to her face. Akuro made a small gulp as she still held her eye contact with the Sunakage, but this time her brows furrowed back with determination. What felt like it would've been hours only lasted for most likely a couple of seconds before the blue haired woman broke out of the intimidating act and gave Akuro a warm smile, completely different to how she first acted literally seconds ago.
Much to her confusion and timidness from the sudden switch, she looked down at Sayaka's hand which was out for a handshake. Akuro slowly took her hand and gave it a gentle shake. When she tried to pull back, it was latched on by the blue haired woman's grip. She heard herself quietly stammer a little as she tried to break free from Sayaka's grasp, only to have it be slowly squeezed with brute force. She silently winced in pain as she was forced to take in the painful squeeze. Luckily, the blue haired woman released Akuro's hand, which was held by the black haired woman's other hand as an attempt to comfort it from the throbbing and stinging sensation that traveled about in it.
While Akuro held her hand, she followed the Sunakage to the couches and sat on the opposite couch from her. Instead of asking her questions of what she hoped to accomplish as her assistant or why did she wanted to do so, she wanted to see where her morality and strategy falls when a cuckoo doesn't sing and what she would do. Akuro didn't know what to think. Should she answer honestly, surprise the Sunakage, or give an answer the blue haired woman wanted to her? Well, she'll give it a shot either way.
Before answering, Akuro gently cleared her throat while she closed her eyes and made a silent sigh afterwards. Opening her eyes, she locked her eyes with Sayaka and began to talk.
"...Well before deciding what to do to the cuckoo, we must first figure out what each plan the kages have had in mind. The first kage that wanted to wait for it to sing most likely cherishes patience. If one does not take consideration into caution, then his whole plan would all be for nothing. The second kage... hmm... he seems to be a consultant? Or a middleman? Either way, the second kage is someone who is persuasive and negotiates. Now since you have not mentioned HOW he would negotiate, let it be with his words or with force, we will go with the latter. The third kage... is more direct with his cause. If the cuckoo refuses to do its role it is intended to do, then it has no purpose to live and can be considered a defect. He is more likely to be more cruel and violent with his actions if things do not go his way." The whole time, Akuro spoke with confidence as her tone was clear, no longer holding anything that would indicate nervousness. Akuro would first analyze the kage's plans and then results of what would happen if their plans do and don't work.
"Now that we know what each kage is as a person, we can now go over what they would do if their plans do not succeed, assuming we take into literal meaning of the main traits that have defined them who the kages are from their plans and nothing else. The first kage would most likely just wait.... the second kage would only continue to at first try to persuade with words followed by a thread to scare the cuckoo into singing. The third kage would just... kill it, and there's nothing else to it. If things or people do not do anything his way, then what purpose do they have of being useful? Such a plan to kill would work whether or not it would actually succeed or not." Akuro paused for a moment to actually decide which plan she would actually go with. With one more sigh let loose, she gave the Sunakage a firm nod.
"I would kill the cuckoo. If I wait for it, it would never sing if it chose to do so. If I were to persuade it, it would not cooperate. If I threaten it, it would think I am only all talk still, followed from me attempting to persuade it. If I kill it, then that would be that. If it cannot sing for me then I will find another cuckoo to do the job. A more obedient one, if you will."
It wasn't the actual answer Akuro wanted to give, but she wanted to give her the element of surprise. In reality, she would wait for the cuckoo to sing. She was a very patient person before she would fall into other methods of making it sing, but she wanted to wow the Sunakage for giving her an unexpected answer. Maybe she didn't actually wow her, who knows, but it was worth the effort.

Sayaka was mildly surprised when Akuro began to go in depth of the purpose of each plan created by the three kages and used those to analyze what their personalities were like. Very few, no one as far as Sayaka knew actually, would go into detail of each plan. She couldn't fight back an amused smile she gave to the young girl as she tilted her head in interest. This Akuro child... heh, she isn't as hopeless as I'd thought she'd be. She thought as she quietly hummed to herself while continuing to listen to the girl speak. She was more than willing to give the credit Akuro deserved for going in depth and dissecting the three kages, but there was much more Sayaka had in mind for this girl to see where her mentality was at with punishment and more to come. The other things that would come would depend on if Sayaka wanted to poke at Akuro more with the idea of where her morality and decision making.
She assumed that Akuro would be likely to wait for the bird to sing. She seemed like someone who was too kind to persuade it and was very far from trying to kill anything. Perhaps in the future she may, but with what she observed it was unlikely. Things then took a different turn when Akuro gave an unexpected answer to kill the cuckoo and explained her reasoning for doing so. Her face lit up in anticipation while her smile grew wry and sinister. She pulled her back off of the couch and eagerly leaned forward in her seat. Who knew a timid girl like Akuro would choose a cruel answer?
"Well, well, well..." Sayaka said softly. "At first, I have taken you to be someone who was innocent, fragile, and very easy to tarnish." She said, her smile widening into a sickening form. "But color me impress... I would have never taken you for someone who would kill, let alone even talk about the third kage's motive to kill and your own reasoning behind it. You're not the first to pick to kill the cuckoo, but you're the first to go in detail about each kage's plan and explain your reasoning behind your choice." She continued as her smile softened to a more neutral stance. That would teach the kage a thing or two about making assumptions about people and jumping into conclusions so quickly. She would be more likely to do it anyway, but she liked being surprised.
Sayaka had something in mind that tied into this topic. She was willing to kill a bird, a creature that has either not "completed its task" as the young girl would put it or "refused to do what it was assigned to do". Some humans were very empathetic towards animals. After all, that was all they were, animals. Some animals don't have the ability to reason and think logically like humans do. They don't know any better and only their follow instincts, which was why humans were softer with animals. Others, well, waste their time or even piss them off and it's the end for them with no remorse whatsoever. Sayaka was shocked when Akuro would rather kill it, but had no means of judging her. Sayaka would've done the same thing.
Now she wanted to know if Akuro would have the same solution with her own kind, or even a kind that was kin to her. "Tell me Oka-san." Sayaka purred. "Now that I know you would be willing to kill an animal, would you also carry out that same solution and reasoning towards... say... your father?" She asked, leaning in a little more closer with curiosity as her sickening smile slowly approached her lips.
"Let us say you were the Sunakage and your father is in charge of executing prisoners who were put to death. You have assigned him to execute a prisoner who was a friend to him, family that he could hold on to as far as time will allow him. It is but you, him, and the prisoner alone in a dark room," She stopped to slap the palm of her hands with all of her might, but not enough to break the wooden table, her smile more sinister now and eyes widen as if her bloodlust was kicking in.
Sayaka would make a delighted giggle before she continued. "With the prisoner strapped onto the table and waiting for his death to arrive by his heart getting ripped out from his chest as he would have to slice through his skin and right, cut off all the veins and arteries that held it close in his chest and FED his own heart to him... but your father refuses to do such a thing. He says no and you can not try to kill the prisoner yourself." Sayaka then ended off the description of the scenario with a whisper, as if she was being very careful with what she was saying and heavy caution.
"Now, with your reasoning to kill the cuckoo... would the same reasoning apply to this sort of situation? To your own flesh and blood? Or would you rather feel more... sympathetic and protective since he is your father? Would you share that same sympathy with another executioner who is a stranger, but practically have a similar relationship with your father in closeness?" Sayaka asked. She wanted to know if she'd be sympathetic with her father or a complete stranger who she would have a close relationship with versus a mere cuckoo.
Whatever the answer was, Sayaka was eager to know what her father's or the other executioner's fate would be.

The honesty from the Sunakage on her first impression on the black haired girl was... a little tough for her tastes, but it wasn't enough to keep down Akuro's smile from her praise. "I guess you should not judge a book by its cover, Lady Sunakage." She said with an awkward wink. She knew her plan of going for the art of surprise would work and impress the Sunakage. Personally she herself wasn't really so comfortable with killing an animal or anyone in that matter, but if she wanted to amaze Sayaka with the unexpected, then she had no other choice. She wouldn't let the Sunakage know that.
Akuro's confident smile faltered when the Sunakage changed the scenario from a cuckoo to executing a prisoner with her father being the executioner, denying his task, and asked if she would still kill him, or anyone else she had a close relationship with. The way she went into detail was extremely disturbing. It looked like she was actually enjoying describing how the hypothetical prisoner would have his heart ripped out. It sent shivers down Akuro's spine with an attempt to maintain her composure. Usually, she would just end up freaking out and exiting the room. It was her way of coping, but she was not going back down so easily no matter how disturbing the Sunakage can get.
"Well, I wouldn't go to the extremes of ending his life. Both scenarios are similar in problem, but the solutions would be different. Yes, the executioner must be punished, but to go as far as to take his life away from him... n-n-no, wait." Akuro mumbled as she shook her head with a hand on her forehead to concentrate on her answer. "The difference between those two scenarios is that one is human life and the other is animal life. Human life is more valuable; it is only natural to think so since he is my own kind, especially someone that I know and is very close with. Even if it is someone that I do not know..."
Was this a trick question? Was the Sunakage expecting the black haired girl to trip over her own words? No, she had to stay her ground. She has to stick with what she said. This one she had to be honest. "I would try and persuade him instead of killing him. It is not worth killing over."

Ha, it looked like Sayaka managed to make the young girl choke. She wasn't expecting her to stick with her answer if she does go rogue from it. It was no trick question she tried to pull on her. It was out of mere curiosity of if Akuro would apply the same principles to a kin or any human. If she kills the cuckoo for not completing its natural task given by life, so could the same thing be said to a human? It was essentially human versus animal. If Sayaka had to take a guess on what the young girl's answer, she'd bet that Akuro wouldn't even think about killing him. She would be more "cautious" when dealing with a human instead. If she didn't, then Sayaka would really be impressed.
Sayaka's eyebrows rose in amusement as Akuro switched her answer when it involved a human's life, specifically one that is a kin to the young girl. She wouldn't say she'd be surprise to hear that Akuro would value human life or an animal's own since, well, Akuro herself is human. so it was a natural response from someone like Akuro. However, it was actually interesting to know that she was willing to kill an animal, yet spare a human's life to which he hasn't fulfill his task. If she were to go by Akuro's standards, similar to Sayaka's in the scenario of killing the cuckoo, Sayaka would very well kill off the executioner, regardless of whether or not it was a kin to her or not.
"It is only natural to look after your own kind, especially one that is related to you, of course, so I can understand why you wouldn't try to kill off someone you hold close to and love dearly as such." Sayaka explained, her voice going into a motherly tone as she leaned back and crossed her arms. Was she a little disappointed? A little. But of course, such an expression wouldn't be shown. She did get her hopes up just by a margin. It would've been another thing the two would've had in common, next to killing the cuckoo.
The Sunakage's shook her head in disappointment.kept herself quiet as she stared at the young girl, as if she were trying to study her. After just a minute of sitting in silence before her smile would be seen being altered a bit to a slight frown. "But if I had to be a little honest... I'm rather confused by your decision." As she spoke, she tilted her head to the left in a childlike manner. "You're more than willing to kill an innocent animal but spare a human's life for not doing his own task, kin or not?" She asked, curiosity dripped all over in her tone.
"Oh, but don't get me wrong! Your father is your father and an animal is all that it is, an animal. You're in your right to defend him as such. Who wouldn't?" She paused to smirk at herself before it was wiped away and took her attention back to Akuro. "But what would your other options be, no matter how much you negotiate and wait for him to change his mind? Wouldn't he just only become more stubborn if you're more cautious with him? Such things can be taken advantage of. It would only seem like you're wasting both his, yours, and the prisoner's time." Sayaka said.
Sayaka didn't necessarily try to force the solution she wanted to hear from the young girl, but instead challenging her ethics and morality. "Do remember, as the kage it is your responsibility to do whatever you can to make the best decisions for your country, even if they may seem cruel. Things may not always work out your way all the time, and sometimes those things would need drastic measures." She said. Sayaka was more than willing to admit her morality and sense of justice is twisted, but believed that it was only seen as such from the lenses of other shinobi and civilians alike. Sure she can also agree, but to her they were justified.
"I'm not trying to make you say things I want to hear... but what I want you to hear is that not all the times will kindness get you anywhere, not even with your own kind, mainly your father. Kindness is a weakness if you use it wrongly and toughness can cripple you if you use too much of it." She purred.

The Sunakage was questioning Akuro's morality. It wasn't visible if one studies her body movements carefully, but she made a gentle gulping motion as she looked at the Sunakage, her thumbs just casually twiddling away to calm her nerves. In reality, she would never dare to try and kill an animal. If she couldn't stomach the idea of trying to kill a human, who would think that she could kill a defenseless animal? Unfortunately, Akuro couldn't turn back and admit that she only gave her answer as such only to fit her standards of what to do as a kage. As the blue haired woman mentioned, it was only natural for her to look after her kind, especially one that is kin to her. Akuro tried her best to respond, but the only thing she ended up doing was trip over her words momentarily before she ended up giving up and kept silent.
Sayaka then informed Akuro about the consequences and responsibilities as kage in such a situation, reminding her that too much of one trait can damage her. Akuro nodded in agreement, but has yet to utter a word. There was one thing that she could admit, and that was that she had too much kindness in her. She couldn't bring herself to hurt any living being even if they deserved it. Sometimes she wondered if becoming a kunoichi was the best option for her. She didn't do it because she had the desire to become one, but because she wanted to make her father proud. She ignored the consequences of being a kunoichi to put a smile on her father's face, but sitting right in front of the Sunakage reminded her of the responsibilities.
"And for that... you are absolutely right, Lady Sunakage." Akuro finally said after she took a deep breath to ease herself. "I suppose you can say I'm a very... sensitive person." She stopped talking as she looked down at her knees, trying to keep her composure. She thought about telling the blue haired woman the truth. It felt like it was too soon, but she also felt as if the woman would eventually figure out and try to shape her into something Akuro couldn't handle. Unfortunately, it would be the case if the Sunakage does consider Akuro as her assistant and she would just have to deal with it.
Akuro gave herself a reassuring nod before her stare went back to the Sunakage, eyes filled with determination. It was time for her to jump the gun and tell her the truth. I've only said that I would kill the cuckoo because... I thought I could impress you. I didn't know what to expect from this interview, so I've only tried to depict how you were like as a person rather than your position. In reality, I could never bring myself to kill, well, anyone. All life is precious to me, even if some don't deserve to have it. I know, I'm a kunoichi, and I know that murder will eventually come across my path as such, but I've always wondered if it was worth it in the end... all just to help my father." She paused for a moment to let her words sink in, taking another deep breath to ease herself.
"I can respect if you do not want to consider me to be your assistant. I would do the same if I were in your shoes... but..." Another pause was made as she looked away to her sides, biting her lips in anxiousness when she was considering the next words she was going to say. No, she had to say it. She had to be truthful. Otherwise, Akuro's guilty conscience would forever remind her of trying to put up a facade of false toughness. Her head turned back to the Sunakage, eyebrows furrowed with confidence.
"I am more than willing to change myself if it means working for you. I will be willing to kill, willing to deceive, whatever it is, I will do everything in my power to benefit you as much as possible. I want to work under your standards and change myself to become more resilient and tougher, if you will, like yourself... but again, I understand if you do not consider me as a possible candidate to become your assistant... even if it meant killing my own father." She explained.
Her shoulders became less tense when she made her final sigh, her eyebrows going back to their usual state and gave the Sunakage a neutral expression. "But please do remember this. I will be loyal to you until the end, assistant or not. You are my kage and I serve under you regardless of what I am and what others think about my loyalty to you or you yourself." Akuro said. She meant what she said and despite the scandalous rumors that surround the kage, this meant tuning everything out of her head so she could keep a more neutral impression on the Sunakage and hopefully gain her trust.
She just hoped the Sunakage would believe in her genuine loyalty towards her.

Sayaka's left eyebrow quirked up in interest when Akuro mentioned that she was a sensitive person. Things definitely took a more... interesting turn as Akuro came clean with her slate and have claimed to have unlimited loyalty for Sayaka, regardless of whether or not she was the kage's assistant. She can't say she was too surprised at the fact that Akuro was saying all these things just to impress her, but she would admit she was a little disappointed. She knew this girl looked too sweet for her decision of killing the cuckoo, but she would definitely give her credit for elaborating the intentions and roles behind the decisions. She may be smart, but she didn't have the guts of becoming a real kunoichi, according to what Akuro had explained.
She couldn't help but smirk at Akuro's determination of her loyalty. All of this for a position that mainly dealt with paperwork. It was all too cute for Sayaka to handle. Of course, the assistant position had more responsibilities than just paperwork, which was why she was very selective and cautious with who she wants. This girl, she was definitely someone Sayaka had a lot of interest in. Not just because she looked too good to be ruined, but because she may have some potential that would benefit both of them. Hell, she was even willing to kill her own father if it meant pleasing Sayaka. Not many, if not none at all, would ever sacrifice their family members for their sake.
The woman sat in silence as she leaned back in her seat, closing her eyes as she began to hum to herself for a few seconds. Opening her eyes, her blue eyes returned to Akuro with a warm smile curled on her lips. "Well, aren't you just the determined type? Willing to sacrifice all you got... just for a few stacks of paper." She said with a snicker. "But this position takes more than just paperwork to get things done around this village. I'm a very thorough person as to what I expect and want as an ideal candidate; someone to play on the same level as me no matter what, stand their own ground, and know when to know their place without being reminded as such." She explained.
Sayaka's expression then shifted over to a more serious and neutral look as she began to lean forward, her tone transformed into a more grim atmosphere. "There are things you'll have to do, whether or not it's against your morale and things where you'll outright deny of doing so." She said. She momentarily stopped, studying the girl once more before she would continue. "Now you... you could be deemed illegible. You're sensitive, as you say, you look too soft to be a kunoichi, and I had a feeling you couldn't even kill a fly if your life depended on that disgusting insect." She said, her head shaking from left to right in disapproval.
"...But what you do have is guts. You were willing to admit to everything that was nothing but a false image to impress me and is willing to adapt to the changes I have in mind for you if I do accept you as my assistant. And I must say, not a lot of people would not only have that much authentic determination and loyalty for me. That, I can respect." Sayaka's tone went for a more warmer and motherly voice as her facial expression eases into a more neutral, yet satisfied looking image.
"I would be a fool if I were to just not accept you and not let you unleash your full potential. You seem like someone who have what it takes, it's just that you don't want to show that side because it clashes with your more kindhearted nature. As I've said before, too much kindness can get you killed within seconds, and the last thing I want is to throw yet another body into the sand." Sayaka joked with a hearty laugh before returning to her serious state.
"That said, let's shift into something more... mellow. Tell me a little bit about yourself; from major events that happened in your life to what caused you to want such a position to work with me." Sayaka asked. It was little trivial things like this that always piqued the woman's curiosity, but usually she'd get the same old story. This time, however, she had a feeling that this girl in front of her could be a little... special.
